From the Principal

Mission Vista High School

I am thrilled to be the first principal of Mission Vista Dual Magnet High School. I have been given the opportunity to create a special program not only unique in Vista Unified but in all of San Diego County.

I have been a principal 24 years, a teacher for 6 years and a Special Education administrator for 4 years.

From 1984 – 1992, I was the principal of Santa Fe Elementary school. In 1992, I created and opened the Vista Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. Vista Academy is a K-8 magnet school that integrates the visual and performing arts across the curriculum. In 2003, I was transferred to Empresa Elementary where I was the principal until November of 2007 when I became the principal of Mission Vista.

I look forward to infusing my leadership and instructional skills which I have acquired throughout my career to be at a school that will serve the needs of our young people.
