Other advantages of the 4 X4 schedule:
1) Cost savings due to less textbooks needed per term ( only ½ of the students will be in subject areas at one time)
2) Fewer subjects to focus on at one time/ deeper and more concentrated instruction with fewer interruptions
3) Fewer class changes
4) More classes offered
5) More credits earned
6) More chances for credit recovery in case of class failures
7) Extra classes/electives to support magnet themes
8) Less volume but more concentrated homework
9) More opportunities for collaborative learning projects because of increased class time
10) Fewer preps for teachers which will increase their effectiveness
11) More opportunities for integrated curriculum
12) Opportunities for senior year internships because of more credits earned
13) Decreased time in passing/student traffic throughout the day which will result in fewer discipline problems and less graffiti
14) Extra classes will allow us to offer more remediation opportunities
15) Less instructional review needed for teachers
16) Reduce the number of administrative tasks performed in one day by teachers and students
17) Improves the student-teacher ratio so that teachers can know more about each student’s individual learning and social needs
