School Site Council
The School Site Council (SSC) is a committee of parents and teachers that work together to develop an effective curricular and instructional program in which all students may attain higher levels of academic competence. The SSC is responsible for allocating and monitoring funds available from the School Improvement Program (SIP).
The SSC also works with the administrator and staff on developing and revising the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). The purpose of the SPSA is to create a cycle of continuous improvement of student performance, and to ensure that all students succeed in reaching academic standards set by the State Board of Educations. The SCC approves the plan and recommends it to the Vista School Board.
Members of the SSC are elected to serve a two-year term and are required to attend monthly SSC meetings.
The School Site Council is made up of 3 staff members, 4 parents and the school principal. The group meets monthly to accomplish the work of the school improvement program. One of the primary functions is to make decisions related to our school budget. The total budget is made of funds in various categories.
To be a parent representative on the School Site Council, you must be elected to serve by other parents through a ballet that is sent home.
