PTA Pirates!! Come join the fun.

Like all schools across the country, Mission Meadows teachers and staff are working to provide the best possible education for our children with ever shrinking budgets. Each year it seems that they have to try to do more with less. Mission Meadows PTA works closely with school administration, teachers, and staff to raise funds for school improvements and educational programs, and provide social events for students and their families.  

Annual PTA membership is just $5. Click here to download a membership form. Return the form with your membership fee to the school office or to your child's teacher.

We encourage you to get involved, join the PTA and help play an important role in the success of our children and our school.  

Mission Meadows is fortunate to have a wonderful group of parents dedicated to enriching the school experience for our students. We rely heavily on PTA support for many school spirit and fundraising activities. Learning opportunities are improved when parents, school staff, students, and the community work together. The PTA brings all these groups together to share thoughts and ideas about programs and activities that benefit children. The Mission Meadows PTA sponsors many activities throughout the year including:  

Assemblies and Back to School Night

 

PTA sponsors numerous assemblies for students, Back to School Night, and informal family nights. Back to School Night gives families an opportunity to meet teachers and staff, explore the class room, and find out about volunteer opportunities in the class and around the school.  

Family Nights

Family nights are a wonderful way to enjoy a dinner or a movie with other Mission Meadows families in a low-key, everybody-is-welcome atmosphere.  

 

Harvest Carnival  

Every year in the fall, Mission Meadows hosts the annual Harvest Carnival where students and their family have a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a day of fun, games, food, and prizes. All proceeds from the Harvest Carnival directly benefit participating classrooms. There are always plenty of game and food booths, face painting, sack races, the ever popular Cake Walk, and much more!  

The Cake Walk, a favorite for all age groups, is a fun game of musical chairs in which the winners walk away with a delicious cake or baked item. Many cakes (home-baked or store bought) are always needed each year to keep up with the Cake Walkers. Last year, we received tremendous support from many businesses in our community. We are very grateful to the local businesses and families who continually donate products and services for the benefit of our school. This year, our Silent Auction featured an assortment of gift baskets created by classrooms.

 The best thing you can do to make the Harvest Carnival a success is to come! Please also invite your friends and family. The Harvest Carnival is great place to enjoy a day of fun in a safe, family-friendly environment that also benefits your child's class.  

Holiday Boutique  

Each holiday season the PTA sponsors a Holiday Boutique. Students have an opportunity to view and purchase a wide array of craft items for their family and friends. 

 Kindergarten Orientation and Tea

 In the Fall, Mission Meadows PTA welcomes the parents and family of incoming kindergarteners with an orientation meeting and welcome tea. The orientation meeting is a wonderful opportunity for new families to tour the school, meet school staff, and find out about available programs and services.

 Safety Patrol, School T-shirts, Site Improvements, and SMILES Program

 Fourth and fifth graders in good academic standing can join our school safety patrol. The safety patrol provides an indispensable service to all our students by monitoring the school pickup and drop-off area in the parking lot and the nearby intersection. Mission Meadows PTA funds are used to purchase equipment and supplies for the safety patrol as needed.  

We are very excited to have a new running track for our students. Thank you to all the past PTA board members, parents, and students who raised the funds to purchase the track.  

Scholastic Book Fair 

Literacy is an essential component of a child's intellectual and personal development. Each year, we work with Scholastic, the largest publisher of children's book, to put on a Book Fair for students and their families. Scholastic publishes high-quality books and software that are designed to educate and entertain, and instill a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Staff Appreciation

The Staff Appreciation Luncheon is an opportunity for us to thank teachers and staff members who have all contributed to the education and social development of our children.

 Yearbook and Picture Day

The school yearbook captures precious moments of each child's time at Mission Meadows. It preserves memories of events, assemblies, and those special spontaneous moments of friendship and cooperation in class, at lunch, and on the playground.
