Empresa Elementary School

Welcome to the website for Empresa Elementary School - home of the Empresa Knights. The school is located in Oceanside, California and is part of the Vista Unified School District.

The 2010-11 school year kicks off this week and all of our students should soon be settled into their classes. The school will continue to focus on the goal of providing intensive reading and math instruction this year. This instruction plus social studies, science, and the visual and performing arts, will allow the school to continue providing the best possible education to the students.

Empresa is a unique elementary school in southern California: the first elementary school to implement "Recess-to-Lunch" where children play before they eat in order to ensure they consume a healthy lunch; the first VUSD elementary school to offer a music program through a parent-funded non-profit foundation, and a program that has become a model for other elementary schools to follow.

The school is committed to providing each student with a challenging standards-based curriculum focused on high expectations, in a safe and nurturing school climate. All children are involved in rich visual and performing arts experiences that enhance creativity and foster individuality. School-wide goals are achieved through open and continuous communication, with a clear understanding of the physical, social, emotional, and cultural needs of our community.
