How do I apply for access to YouTube?

Download the Request for Access to Blocked Web Content form follow the instruction in the form and complete.

How does the approval process for access to YouTube work?

After you have submitted the completed "Request for Access to Blocked Web Content" form the Curriculum & Instruction department begins the review process. When C&I have completed their review and approve the request they submit an Information Systems work order to grant access.
1. Download the form, complete, return per instructions and email to BlockedContentReview@vusd.k12.ca.us.
2. The form is now routed to Curriculum & Instruction (C & I) for review and approval.
3. C & I will generate a work order allowing access to You-tube.
4. Information Systems assigns the work order for processing and closes the work order.
5. This process takes approximately 2-4 days.

I have received approval for access to YouTube, but it still does not work. What do I do?

1. Make sure the computer you are using is a VUSD computer attached to the network.
2. Be sure you are logged in using your network login account (the same as your VUSD email account and password).
3. Delete the browser history.
4. Close your browser and re-open the browser.
5. If you still cannot access YouTube after trying #4, restart your computer, login and try again.
6. If the problem continues submit an Information Systems work order.

How do I share my Outlook Calendar?

On the Machine to be Shared:
1. Open Outlook, navigated to Tools>Options>Delegates>Add
2. Find the User to receive access to calendar in the Global Directory and Click ADD, OK.
3. On the Permissions page change any permissions for Calendar, Tasks, etc. that are necessary. Click OK, OK.

On the Machine to receive the Calendar Share:
1. Open Outlook, navigate to File>Open>other User’s Folder
2. Click on Name. Find the name of the Person who is sharing the Calendar in the Global Directory, Highlight it & Click OK
3. In the ‘Folder’ field, Click the drop down menu and select Calendar. Click OK

The calendar should automatically open. From this point forward, the calendar should appear on the list when the user Clicks File>Open>other User’s Folder.

How do I Create an Outlook Personal Folders (.pst)?

Use the following steps to create a personal folders (.pst) file when Outlook is open. Please note that this feature is not avaiable if using Outlook Web Access (OWA).

1. Open Outlook.
2. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File.
3. Under Types of storage, click Personal Folders file (.pst), and then click OK. The Create or Open Outlook Data File dialog box appears.
4. Accept the Outlook folder as the default save location or provide a custom save location. At this time you can specific where you want the folder to reside (G: drive).
5. In the File Name box, create a custom name for the personal folders (.pst) file, or accept the default name. Click OK, and then the Create Microsoft Personal Folders dialog box appears.
6. In the Name box, you can type a custom title for the personal folders (.pst) file, or accept the default title of Personal Folders. This name appears on the Folders List, and is applied to any shortcuts made for the personal folders (.pst) file on the Outlook Bar. You can select a custom Encryption Setting and/or a Password for the personal folders (.pst) file. After you enter your desired settings, click OK.
7. The personal folders (.pst) file that you created is added to your Folder List. To view the Folder List, click Folder List on the View menu.
