School Resource Offficers
The Vista Unified School District collaboratively entered into a contract with the City of Vista to provide two Special Purpose Officers, who will serve as School Resource Officers, for our high schools campuses. The School Resource Officer Program effectively uses law enforcement officers in the schools. Sworn law enforcement officers, who are already well prepared to deal with weapons and violent behavior, are trained to counsel students on law related problems, provide staff and parent trainings on drug, tobacco and violence prevention, and serve as role models for students. School Detective Earnell Sease serves Rancho Buena Vista High School and Vista Focus Academy. School Detective Mario Genera serves Vista High School and Alta Vista Continuation High School.
